Redline Communications Inc. has announced that Neovia, the major Brazilian wireless service provider, has chosen Redline's RedMAX products for the first stage of its planned U.S. $30 million fixed wireless network. Neovia is the first in Brazil to incorporate WiMAX Certified Equipment in its network, which serves more than 35,000 subscribers in 52 cities throughout Sao Paulo State.

Brightstar, a Redline value-added distributor and the leading wireless distribution and supply chain solutions provider in the world, was an integral part of the collaborative team that is enabling Neovia to design and implement the high-density network for the delivery of voice, video and data services. The RedMAX network will deliver true broadband connectivity, offering users at speeds of up to 35 Mbps, with guaranteed service levels for businesses and residents.

"Redline is the clear WiMAX vendor of choice for industry-leading, high-performance, wireless broadband access and backhaul networks," Carlos Barroso, chief technical and operational director at Neovia. "After a rigorous evaluation process and commercial trials of other proprietary and WiMAX products, we selected Redline's RedMAX systems. RedMAX delivers the highest-capacity and highest-performance of any other WiMAX product we have trialed. In addition, its products are backed by the most vigorous attention to deployment services and support, giving us the confidence that we could establish a certified WiMAX network and continue to grow with Redline."

"With more than 100 RedMAX deployments in 40 countries, Redline has become a trusted source for true WiMAX Forum Certified products that support a rapid return on carrier's network investment," said Kevin Suitor, vice president, marketing and business development, Redline Communications. "Leading wireless carriers such as Neovia are among the hundreds of companies that are now generating real revenues from their WiMAX networks."

"WiMAX has established itself as a proven, cost-effective technology, which offers an operator the broadest flexibility to address their customers' needs in the marketplace today, especially where the demand exists for high-bandwidth services," said John Bonadurer III, general manager WiMAX, Brightstar. "Redline's RedMAX solution has been proven to support high concentrations of users on a single sector, providing carriers with an excellent return on investment."
