China's handset market selects Anadigics GSM/GPRS PA modules

RF ICs supplier Anadigics is shipping production volumes of its AWT6108 7-mm x 10-mm indium gallium phosphide (InGaP) heterojunction bipolar transistor (HBT) GSM/GPRS power amplifiers (PAs) to Beijing Capitel Co. Ltd., a leading handset manufacturer in China. The Capitel C5188 GSM handset features an integrated color display and seven-color lamp, encased in an elegant folding design. The AWT6108 GSM/GPRS PA module is featured on a tier-one reference design and provides Capitel with the performance required for the C5188 GSM handset.

The AWT6108 7-mm x 10-mm quad-band GSM/GPRS PA module delivers exceptional performance and reliability. The AWT6108 PA provides a high level of efficiency with 55% efficiency for GSM bands and 50% efficiency for DCS/PCS bands. The GPRS Class 12 compatible PA module supports dual, tri and quad band applications using any combination of the GSM850, GSM900, DCS and PCS bands. The industry-leading InGaP HBT technology featured in the AWT6108 provides superior performance, reliability, and manufacturing yield compared with AlGaAs technology.
