Cirronet introduces low-cost ZigBee basic developer kit

Cirronet Inc. has announced its ZigBee basic developer kit, a low-price development option that network designers can use to quickly evaluate the ZigBee wireless standard in their specific application environments. The ZMN24HPDK-B (basic) developer kit includes one RS-232 wireless sensor modem and one 2.4 GHz sensor interface board, both built around Cirronet's 2.4 GHz high RF power (100 mW) ZigBee OEM module, plus power adapters, cables, antennas, batteries and demo software. Developers can use the kit to immediately test range, speed and operation in the application environment and, for simple applications, continue using the kit to develop system interfaces and control software.

The ZMN24HPDK-B developer kit, including technical support, will be available later this month from Cirronet resellers and representatives at an introductory price of $199.

Note: The ZigBee basic developer kit is also provided at no charge to participants in Cirronet's "Learn and Earn" hands-on ZigBee training seminars, which are held at Cirronet's headquarters in metro Atlanta, Ga and include two session dates from which to choose: May 31-June 1, and June 20-21. Attendees pay only for travel and lodging expenses, as the seminar and dev kit are provided at no additional cost.
