Low-cost, rugged coaxial attenuators unveiled

Vista RF Inc. has introduced a new line of off-the-shelf, economical rugged coaxial attenuators designed for broadband applications in commercial and defense frequency bands. The VSA series of fixed attenuators operate from dc up to 6 GHz and are offered in economical brass and durable, stainless-steel versions.

The 2 W VSA-MB product line is offered in a SMA male-to-female housing and features all-brass construction. It is available in attenuation values from 1 dB to 10 dB in 1 dB increments, as well as fixed values of 15 dB, 20 dB and 30 dB, all with ± 0.3 dB flatness and with a typical VSWR of 1.15:1 across the band.

The VSA-MS is also a 2 W SMA male-to-female attenuator constructed of stainless steel and available in attenuation values from 1 dB to 10 dB in 1 dB steps, as well as fixed values of 15 dB, 20 dB and 3 0dB, all with ± 0.3 dB flatness and 1.15:1 typical VSWR across the band.

The VSA-N product line is offered in an N-type male-to-female housing, in two different materials for durability and versatility. The VSA-NB is constructed with a solid brass body and is available in 10 dB to 30 dB versions in 5 dB increments with a 3 W and 5 W power-handling capability. All of these models exhibit a ± 0.3 dB flatness and a typical VSWR of 1.20:1 across the band. Whereas the VSA-NS has a housing constructed of stainless steel and is available from 10 dB to 30 dB in 5 dB increments with a 5 W power-handling capability. The VSA-NS models exhibit ±1.0 dB flatness and a typical VSWR of 1.20:1 across the band.
