Redline Communications Inc. and Comcentric Networking Inc. have announced the successful deployment of Redline’s RedMAX systems to establish advanced WiMAX networks to connect business and residential broadband subscribers in southwestern Ontario.

After a rigorous selection process, Redline’s RedMAX system was chosen to expand Comcentric’s existing fixed wireless network, enabling the consortium to reach more subscribers, deliver advanced communications services, and ensure faster connection speeds for users. In the summer of 2007, the Comcentric companies plan to expand their WiMAX services to businesses and residents in the areas surrounding Stratford and Lucan.

“The wait for WiMAX is over. Redline’s RedMAX solutions have enabled us to roll out wireless Internet services in selected coverage areas to meet consumer demands for true broadband speeds and support for data and voice communications,” said Tim DeWeerd, general manager of Quadro Communications and a director of Comcentric. “Rural businesses and residents in our region who previously had no access to broadband services via traditional wireline networks can now connect using the most advanced broadband wireless technologies available.”

The exceptional performance, capacity, coverage and carrier-class scalability of RedMAX products are the result of Redline’s extensive OFDM technology development and deployment experience. With an extended reach of more than 15 kilometers, speeds of up to 10 Mbps, advanced encryption, quality of service (QoS) controls, VLAN capabilities, and ability to support up to thousands of users on a single base station, RedMAX enables Comcentric and other carriers, mobile operators, ISPs, enterprises other network operators to support heavy data and voice traffic on their networks.
