High reliability passive components for the military and aerospace
AVX Corporation has introduced an Automotive Plus Series (APS) of components, qualified to the automotive AEC-Q200 standard, to fulfill high-reliability requirements in the military and aerospace industries. This new series features the base metal electrode system (BME) for X7R ceramic, a technology that has proven its excellent field reliability. Each APS production batch is shipped with a certificate of conformance.
On a quarterly basis a reliability package is available to all APS customers. The detailed qualification package contains results on a range of part numbers including: X7R dielectric components containing BME electrode and copper terminations with a Ni/Sn plated overcoat; X7R dielectric components BME electrode and soft terminations with a Ni/Sn plated overcoat (Flexiterm); X7R for hybrid applications; epoxy-finished components, which enable the parts to be conductive glue-mounted; and NP0 dielectric components containing Pd/Ag electrode and silver termination with a Ni/Sn plated overcoat. APS - NP0, X7R and X7R Flexiterm components are also available with a tin/lead finish.
All manufacturing facilities of APS parts are QS9000 and VDA 6.4 approved; pricing is $0.10 for 10,000 pieces for the 0603 X7R parts.
