Micro-D connector employs pi-configured filtering for exceptional attenuation for military and avionics applications
ITT Electronic Components has developed a robust Micro-D connector with exceptional attenuation. Designated as the TMDMP filter, the connector uses a unique, internal pi-configured filter design, providing the density needed to accommodate the ferrite tubes necessary for effective filtering in military and aerospace applications.
Unlike conventional C type filters, the pi-configured filter design uses two capacitors and a ferrite inductor, providing a significantly better attenuation curve. The connector is lightweight, yet rugged, and is housed in a small package, making it suitable for harsh environments — particularly those with space constraints.
Completely intermateable with MIL-DTL-83513, the TMDMP filter connector is well suited for integrated avionics and electronic warfare, satellites and space systems, radar, weapon controls and targeting systems.
The TMDMP filter connector is available in five sizes: 9, 15, 21, 25 and 37, with contacts for both sockets (receptacle) and pins (plugs). The connector features rugged aluminum shells and soldering to the printed wiring board is facilitated by expanded contact terminal spacing. Capacitance values include H, L, M and T.
Pricing for the TMDMP filter connector ranges from $150 to $200 in quantities of 100. Lead time is 12 to 14 weeks.
