Contract will fund upgrade of U.S. Navy's Hawkeye E-2C weapons system
Real-Time Innovations has been awarded a Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Phase II contract by the Naval Air Systems (NAVAIR) Command to research technologies relevant to an ongoing comprehensive upgrade of the Navy E-2C Hawkeye aircraft. The E-2C Hawkeye provides Navy carriers with an aircraft equipped to identify and analyze targets, coordinate surveillance and direct countermeasures. The contract awarded to RTI is a Phase II SBIR effort with a value of $600,000, along with a $150,000 option for additional follow-on development. This SBIR award will be used for continued research and development with respect to performance optimization, portability across architectures, hardware and operating systems.
RTI's data distribution service enables complex systems such as the E-2C Hawkeye to achieve high levels of data integration and performance that are not possible with conventional solutions.
RTI data distribution service is an information-networking software program that makes it easy to develop applications that communicate over a network. The software is designed for distributed applications that need to process real-time data. Using a publish-subscribe model for data transfer, this data distribution service provides fast and highly predictable performance along with scalability across large distributed applications and networks.
The company's software and services have been leveraged in a broad range of industries including defense, intelligence, and communications. Founded in 1991 and privately held, RTI has its headquarters in Santa Clara, CA.
