$3.5 million experimentation and evaluation contract to support RAID project

Alion Science and Technology has been awarded a three-year, $3.5 million Experimentation and Evaluation (E & E) contract to support the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency Real-time Adversarial Intelligence and Decision-making (RAID) project.

Alion's team includes Applied Research Associates, BMH, Simulex and VisiTech. Their task is to develop small, processor-based 'reasoning modules'. These modules will assist the joint urban warfare combat team in analyzing tactical situations in near real-time, and based upon previous enemy behavior and intention, provide likelihoods of expected enemy intentions and actions.

The Alion team will gauge the degree of value the RAID modules add to the combat force through experiments and rigorous evaluation analysis. The E & E effort will provide independent design, execution and evaluation of RAID experiments.

Alion will provide advanced experimentation and evaluation of the reasoning modules in a simulated joint urban operation Wargame experiment. The experiment and evaluations will occur twice a year during the three-year life span of the contract.
