Wireless-enabled vision sensor enables real-time surveillance
The Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology (CSEM) has introduced a wireless version of its ViSe vision sensor system (click here for a video demonstration), the ViSeLink. This technology provides real-time recognition of still and moving objects in any light condition. It is designed to send image analyses, security alerts and responses between a moveable camera and a PC or network gateway without a broadband connection. The current version uses Bluetooth technology.
The ViSeLink system is composed of the ViSe camera vision sensor and DSP chip, which runs identification algorithms. The system speeds throughput of visual data by enabling the vision sensor chip itself to extract key image features needed for interpretation, prior to sending it for software processing on the DSP.
A ViSeLink evaluation kit consisting of a small camera, software and documentation is available now. CSEM will also develop customized software and algorithms for specific applications. An evaluation kit is available to qualified customers.
