Dual operational amplifier exhibits low noise over a wide voltage range up to 36 V
Analog Devices AD8599 dual operational amplifier is designed for applications that require low noise as well as high precision. With a wide operating voltage range up to 36 V, the AD8599 is said to lower voltage noise by 80% as compared with standard operational amplifiers. Available in the same package as many single op-amps, the AD8599 thereby enables a high level of integration. The AD8599 is well suited for closed-loop gain, error-amplifier configurations — and trans-impedance applications such as microphone pre-amplifiers, buffers for precision digital-to-analog converters and photodiode amplifiers. The AD8599 is housed in an 8-lead small outline integrated circuit (SOIC) package, thereby minimizing board space requirements. It also reduces the cost of external components by including a compensation capacitor for unity gain stability.
The AD8599 was designed using Analog Devices' proprietary iPolar high-voltage process technology that is said to account for its excellent precision, low noise and gain stability. The device is available in full production quantities and is priced at $4.25 in 1000-piece quantities. Specifications are valid over a ±5 V to ±15 V voltage range and from –40 degrees C to +125 degrees C.
