External Hard Drive Keeps A Slim Profile
Tailored for thin netbooks and laptops, Seagate’s GoFlex Slim 2.5-in. external hard drive lays claim to being the market’s slimmest at 9 mm. A mechanical drive operating at 7200 rpm, it provides a USB 3.0 interface and performs seamlessly between Windows and Mac platforms without formatting or performance issues. Also, it comes with software for automatic and continuous backups plus file/folder encryption. The drive will be available in a Mac OS X-specific version as well. Preformatted to HFS+, it is fully compatible with Apple’s Time Machine software. For the style-conscious, GoFlex Slim for Mac OS X sports a durable, soft-touch metallic finish that resists scratches, fingerprints, and other blemishes. Expect to see a 320-Gbyte Mac drive in May for a MSRP of $99.
