FEI-Zyfer gets contract for communication synchronization systems
FEI-Zyfer, a wholly owned subsidiary of Frequency Electronics, was recently awarded a $1.4-million order for newly upgraded precision GPS-based time and frequency reference systems. These systems are incorporated into military communications infrastructure designed to transmit and receive secure voice, data and video communication to or from wireless, hard-wired or satellite sources. These FEI-Zyfer systems provide critical signal synchronization and frequency references to a flexible communications infrastructure tailored to specific needs and deployed worldwide.
The order requires delivery of multiple systems over a two-month period. According to FEI-Zyfer, the standard synchronization systems conform to the government's COTS criteria.
"We are particularly pleased with this contract as it validates the use of our newly upgraded design as a precision time and frequency reference within satellite network infrastructure," said Steven Strang, president of FEI-Zyfer.
