Conference Series Slated For Femtocell Technology

Femtocells Asia, scheduled for March 23-24 in Tokyo, is the first event in the 2009 Femtocells World Series. With the true role of femtocells within networks still being debated, Femtocells Asia will provide valuable insight into consumer and operational experiences. Delegates will also have the chance to learn more about the direction of femtocells and where their future lies with regards to 4G networks, applications, and potential in the enterprise sector.

Operator keynotes will be provided by Softbank, Korea Telecom, China Mobile, Chunghwa Telecom, SK Telecom, and others. The Femto Forum, 3GPP, the WiMAX Forum, and 3GPP2 will present standards updates. The event will include an exhibition of the latest femtocell and fixed-mobile technologies and applications.

The Femtocell World Summit, scheduled for June 23-25 in London, will include a major exhibition of the latest femtocell and fixed-mobile technologies that will run in conjunction with the conference portion of the Summit. The Summit’s conference is the only such program in 2009 to receive the endorsement of the Femto Forum, according to Avren Events, which organized the Summit.

The third femtocell event on Avren’s list is Femtocells Americas. It is scheduled for Nov. 16-18 at a U.S. site not yet announced.
