First order accepted for new handheld explosives detector is from the Middle East
Implant Sciences Corporation has received an order for 11 units of the company's QS-H150 handheld explosives detection device to be shipped to the United Arab Emirates. The company recently launched its lighter and more compact QS-H150 handheld explosives detection device with improved features that should result in greater ease of use and maintenance. It is expected that these units will be used in various locations within the United Arab Emirates for protection of government installations. Joanne Arsenault, vice president of the sales & marketing-security division, stated, "We are pleased that the first installation of our new QS-H150 explosives detection device will be in such a highly visible location as the United Arab Emirates. We believe our campaign to introduce our QS-H150, which is lighter, more compact and designed with features to improve the ease of use, maintenance and manufacturability of the device, was well-received and has provided us the exposure necessary to grow sales over the next several quarters. We currently have more than 240 units of our first-generation H100 handheld explosives detection device installed throughout the world. It is our expectation that this initial order could lead to future orders in the Middle East."
Dr. Anthony J. Armini, PhD., CEO of Implant Sciences, further commented, “We have been working on this order for the United Arab Emirates for some time now. We believe that this is an important order that should provide commercial exposure for our new version of the handheld explosives detector."
The company continues working toward the domestic certification of its newly configured desktop unit that provides the breadth of analytical features required of a stationary detection device and the flexibility of a portable device. They also report progress in the development of a passenger portal and the construction of a vehicle inspection device.
