Learn How To Get Your Share Of The Federal Stimulus Package

Article Tools

The recently approved federal stimulus package includes approximately $800 billion in new investment designed to boost the U.S. economy over the next 24 months. More than $30 billion will be specifically directed at telecommunications, photonics, and information technologies (TPIT). Another $30 billion will be spent on related activities that could directly and indirectly give a further boost to TPIT.

To help you understand how to take advantage of this opportunity, Information Gatekeepers Inc (IGI), in cooperation with Paul Hastings LLP and Information Age Economics (IAE), is planning a series of telecommunications and photonics executive briefings. These sessions will bring together leaders from President Obama’s administration, the U.S. Congress, senior members of the executive branch, and other policymakers and stakeholders who will explain the market opportunities and how you can access them.

The first executive briefing will be an overview of the stimulus package and an analysis of the major sections that focus on the telecommunications, photonics, and IT markets. It will be held on April 23 in Washington, D.C., at the office of Paul Hastings LLP. Alan Pearce, a telecommunications economist and president of Information Age, and Tara Giunta, a partner in the Paul Hastings LLP telecom, media, and IT practice, will be the co-chairs.

The preliminary agenda will include an overview of the stimulus package, plus a look at the broadband infrastructure, smart grids, the transportation infrastructure, education, health and IT, science and technology, and recommendations and strategies on how to approach these market opportunities. These topics should be of interest to equipment suppliers, service suppliers, systems integrators, contractors and subcontractors, and consultants. The speakers will answer questions like:

• Who will be spending the funds?
• When will the funds be spent?
• What will be the rules and regulations?
• Who should apply, i.e., who will be eligible and who will not?
• What strategies would be most effective?

Registration for the session costs $695 before April 1 and $995 after, with a 10% discount for multiple attendees.
