Kagan Research has announced the panelists for its exclusive audio briefing on “The Promises and Pitfalls of Investing in WiMAX,” to be held on Thursday, Dec. 7. The 90-minute teleconference will focus on how WiMAX fits into the fixed and mobile broadband carrier ecosystem and how the timing of WiMAX's standards-supported coming-of-age will determine its uses and success.

Featured speakers will include these industry experts:

-Warren Lee, a principal with Canaan Partners.
-Matthew I. Growney, executive vice president and chief of strategy.            -Darwin Suzsoft, U.S.-China software and services company.
-Ronny Haraldsvik, vice president of marketing for Qualcomm where he leads its global marketing initiatives for mobile broadband.

-John Mansell, Kagan's lead analyst for sports media rights and franchise valuations, communications law, cable TV overbuilds and competition and a seasoned appraiser of sports business, digital media, wireless, DBS and communications properties.

The Promises and Pitfalls of Investing in WiMAX” will provide insight on which sectors offer the biggest growth and investment opportunities, and which ones are the riskiest. Panelists will also address the key regulatory, technical, and competitive challenges still to be resolved. The briefing is designed to give equipment suppliers, investors, WiMAX operators, and cable TV, telecom or DBS operators an opportunity to hear and speak with a panel of industry experts in a live Q&A session.
