Taiyo Yuden’s MDMK4040 4-mm metal power inductor for choke coil applications fits power circuits in low profile digital devices like notebook PCs. Companies are meeting market demands by focusing on small, super-high-end products with a low profile. This product applies the industry’s leading DC bias of lower profile size. The choke coils of power supply circuits are challenging to deal with in large size profiles, but even more so in smaller sizes. The company already released MDMK2020, which is a 2mm version, earlier this year. The MDMK4040’s magnetic materials improved the DC bias characteristics and combined it with the process technology.
