Linear mixers with LO amplifiers cover 0.8 GHz to 3.0 GHz

Article Tools

Hittite Microwave has introduced two double-balanced mixers with integrated LO amplifiers that are well suited for applications from 0.8 GHz to 3.0 GHz. The HMC551LP4(E) and HMC552LP4(E) are MMIC double-balanced mixers with integrated LO amplifiers that operate from 0.8 GHz to 1.2 GHz and 1.6 GHz to 3.0 GHz, respectively. The HMC551LP4(E) and HMC552LP4(E) feature low conversion loss of 8 dB, up to 30 dB of LO to RF isolation, and +27 dBm input IP3. These mixers are intended for upconverter and downconverter applications.

Both mixers operate from a single +5 V supply and can be driven by levels between -4 dBm and +4 dBm. This means that synthesizers are able to drive the mixers directly. The devices are housed in RoHS-compliant, leadless 4 x 4 mm QFN E packages and are pin-for-pin compatible allowing for a common PCB layout for all of the frequency bands covered. The HMC551LP4 and HMC552LP4 versions have SnPb solder-plated leads and are RoHS-5 compliant.

Samples and evaluation PC boards are available from stock.
