Motorola Unveils WiMAX USB Adapter
Laptop users who depend on wireless access on the go can take advantage of Motorola’s USBw 100 WiMAX USB adapter. About the size of a thumb drive, this device comes in three versions to connect to WiMAX networks in each of the three bands approved for use around the world—2.3, 2.5, and 3.5 GHz. It will be available in the fourth quarter of this year.
Users plug the USBw 100 right into their laptops. Its multiple antenna technology was designed for reliable, high-speed connectivity with better range than single-antenna solutions both indoors and out. Combining the USBw 100 with Motorola’s dual-antenna diversity access point/wireless access point (DAP/WAP) 400 series significantly enhances both uplink and downlink performance.
