Novel RF device integrates a switch with connector
With the release of several new RF power switching connectors that are surface/edge-mounted and are able to handle 80 W up to 0.9 GHz, Radiall has introduced a switching connector product line that is well suited for applications in telecommunications and in RF power amplifiers. This two-in-one product replaces existing standard RF switches by integrating the switch function into a connector receptacle. It optimizes packaging density, simplifies the printed-circuit board layout and reduces overall cost.
These switching connectors are available in right or left versions for QMA, QN (both Quick Lock Formula certified) TNC, N and SMA interfaces. For the TNC series nominal impedance is 50 Ohms over the frequency range of dc to 3 GHz. Whereas isolation from dc to 1 GHz is typically -47 dB and insertion loss from dc to 1 GHz is 0.1 dB, maximum.
