Oscilloscopes offer color at approximately 20% lower cost

Agilent Technologies has introduced four portable, digital storage oscilloscopes (DSOs) for approximately 20% less than equivalent products with comparable quality, performance and features. With bandwidths of 60 MHz, 100 MHz, 150 MHz and 200 MHz, the Agilent DSO3000 series offers two channels and a color display with almost 20% more waveform viewing area.

At the low end of the oscilloscope market, the color display is becoming so important that it has said that many users will never buy a monochrome scope again.

"The new DSO3000 series provides exceptional performance for the price," says Ron Nersesian, vice president and general manager of Agilent's Design Validation Division. "Agilent provides color on every model and offers features, such as a dual time base display, that in the past have only been available in more expensive models."

These oscilloscopes provide a 1 GSa/s-maximum sample rate, 4 k memory per channel and a 5.7-inch display. The front-panel design looks and operates like a typical Agilent portable scope with dedicated knobs for each channel, control of the main and delayed time bases, and menu keys grouped by function. An optional software connect package simplifies printing and controlling the oscilloscopes via USB.

The Agilent DSO3000 series two-channel oscilloscopes range in price from $995 for its DSO3062A 60 MHz version to $1895 for its DSO3202A 200 MHz version.
