picoChip To Present On Femtos At MWC 2009
picoChip has agreed to join the 2009 MWC in its effort to ramp up the anticipated arrival of femtocell technology to mainstream markets at MWC’s FemtoZone. Hosted by the GSMA and Femto Forum, FemtoZone will be releasing all the latest developments in femtocells.
There will be daily presentations at the FemtoZone from various industry professionals. picoChip will be represented by Rupert Baines, vice president of Marketing at picoChip, on February 17. He will be releasing the latest advances in femtos from WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, WiMAX, and LTE. Also, picoChip will have their baseband SoC devices on display in the femtocell ecosystem product showcase in 1 D56, Hall 1 at the MWC.
"This year's Mobile World Congress marks the beginning of the real acid test for femtocells," says Robindhra Mangtani, director of the GSMA project on femtocells. "The FemtoZone will attempt to address the key issues, such as what is going to be the key driver for successful deployments and are there going to be further technical hurdles to be addressed before we see large scale deployment?"
