Power systems company hires telecom industry veterans to penetrate market
Richardson, Texas — Valere Power has hired telecommunications industry veterans Michael Kania and Mark Rock as directors of business development, to help the company keep pace with its growth in the wireless and wireline telecommunications industries. They both report to Al Cioffi, Valere's vice president of business development.
Kania will head up expansion in the wireless network market, which has become one of the company's fastest growing industry segments. Kania has nearly 35 years of experience in the telecommunications market, working in roles of increasing responsibility at various divisions of Lucent Technologies including its power systems group. Kania has a bachelor of electrical engineering degree from the City College of New York and a Master of Science degree in engineering management from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Rock will direct business development efforts focused on wireline carriers, leveraging his seven years of experience developing telecommunications infrastructure products. Most recently, he was the senior manager of the infrastructure group at Alcatel, directing the company's development of outside plant enclosures used in fiber-optic and DSL broadband applications. Prior to Alcatel, Rock held a variety of manufacturing engineering positions with Texas Instruments. He holds a bachelor's degree in engineering technology from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La.
