A contract is awarded to produce power control enclosures for the M113 armored vehicle program

LaBarge Inc. has received a $2.3 million contract from BAE Systems to produce power control enclosure assemblies for the M1068A3 SICPS (standard integrated command post system) configuration of the M113 armored personnel carrier.

The M1068A3 SICPS vehicle is a lightly armored vehicle equipped with a computer network that functions as a mobile command post for the U.S. Army. The LaBarge-built electronic enclosures are responsible for the central conditioning and distribution of ac and dc power to all systems of the vehicle including computers, weapons and lighting.

The company expects production on the contract to begin this month and to continue through September at its Huntsville, AL, facility. LaBarge Inc. is a broad-based provider of electronics to technology-driven companies in diverse markets. With headquarters in St. Louis, LaBarge has also has operations in Missouri, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Texas.
