Qualcomm, Sanmu Sign 3G License Agreement
Shenzhen Sanmu Communication Co. Ltd. and Qualcomm Inc. have entered into a 3G subscriber unit and module/modem card (including printed-circuit board assemblies) license agreement. Under the terms of the royalty-bearing agreement, Qualcomm has granted Sanmu a worldwide patent license to develop, manufacture, and sell subscriber units and module/modem cards implementing the cdma2000 and/or TD-SCDMA standards. Sanmu will pay Qualcomm’s standard worldwide royalty rates.
“Qualcomm promotes a dynamic marketplace in which its partners are able to utilize advanced technologies and innovative ideas to bring new and exciting products and services to wireless users,” said Derek Aberle, executive vice president and president of Qualcomm Technology Licensing. “The growing number of Qualcomm licensees like Sanmu who continue to enter and compete in the wireless market enables consumers to benefit from a broader choice of features, functions, and applications in their wireless devices.”
