M/A-COM expands presence in China
M/A-COM, a business unit of Tyco Electronics, has opened an engineering and operations center in Shenzhen, China to more effectively serve the needs of its customers in Asia. This support center houses operations and engineering expertise and staff from M/A-COM's Infrastructure & Broadband product line team, which is responsible for manufacturing, quality assurance, planning and engineering for the company's ferrites, multiple virtual storage (MVS) and cable TV (CATV) product areas.
According to M/A-COM, the Shenzhen Engineering Center enables the company to rapidly create and manufacture derivative product designs, with local engineering resources available to support the company's customers who have manufacturing and engineering facilities in China.
“The M/A-COM-Shenzhen Engineering and Operations Center is a tremendous asset for our company as we expand our footprint in Asia. With this facility we can provide our customers with the resources that they require, where they need them,” said Tim Emery, vice president, sales, M/A-COM.
The facility occupies less than 3000 square feet and has eight engineering personnel. The company has a separate sales office in Shenzhen.
