Motorola broadens its Smart Networks Platform with the introduction of the MPC180 and MPC180e security processors, both designed to provide information security in the networking market with support for Bulk Data and Public Key encryption. The MPC180 product also offers Elliptic Curve Cryptography support for wireless infrastructure applications. The MPC180 and the MPC180e are designed to allow integration into systems already using Motorola's host processors, integrated processors, and network processors by providing a glueless interface to the 8xx bus, the local bus for the MPC8260, and the 60x bus operating at 50 MHz and 66 MHz.
