Temex Announces New Material for Very High Frequency Applications

Paris, France -- Temex, a unit of Tekelec Systemes, introduced a new range of high frequency ceramics with twice the performance of previous materials for 8 GHz to 15 GHz applications, at no significant extra cost, the company says.

Temex' E7000 is a high Q material, developed to achieve very low losses at 8 GHz to 15 Ghz for applications such as 3G base station filters, ultra-stable oscillators and high performance radio links. The material also has Q.F of 200'000 to 250'000 at 10 GHz, according to temperature coefficient, the company says.

There are temperature coefficients ranging from 0 ppm to +6 ppm per degree C currently available. The new material offers a dielectric constant of 24 +/-2.

Temex is supporting its new materials with simulation software available from its Web site. Using a straightforward data entry screen to insert the parameters, designers are offered a recommended device together with a simulation of its performance in the designers system. The impact of including a spacer can also be evaluated using this tool, the company says.
