Samsung Selects TriQuint Front End For Tab And Galaxy S
Samsung has selected a complete 3G RF front end from TriQuint Semiconductor for its Galaxy Tab and its Galaxy S devices. According to the companies, the TriQuint solution offers the lowest current consumption and the highest degree of design flexibility, scalability, and miniaturization compared to other 3G WEDGE architectural solutions. It includes TriQuint’s family of WCDMA Tritium PA duplexer modules in combination with its linear WEDGE Quantum Tx module.
The Tritium PA duplexer module family integrates a duplexer, power amplifier, and interstage filter that supports major WCDMA bands including Band 1, 2, 4, 5, and 8 (see the figure). The Quantum Tx module integrates an EDGE power amplifier, low-pass filtering, and a single-pole eight-throw (SP8T) antenna switch. The solution has been tested and certified with a leading chipset provider/system integrator to optimize the overall system performance.
As part of TriQuint’s complete 3G RF front end, the Tritium PA duplexer module family integrates a duplexer, power amplifier, and interstage filter that supports major WCDMA bands. The TQS676021 supports Band 1.
The Quantum Tx module, the TQM6M9014, and the Tritium PA duplexer family are available in high volume (TQM676021, Band 1; TQM666022, Band 2; TQM656024, Band 4; TQM616025, Band 5; TQM626028L, Band 8).
