Samsung Taps Adaptive Antenna Tech For Slimmer Smart Phones

Samsung will use the Ethertronics EtherSmart LTE 1.0 Phone Adaptive Antenna Solution in its Galaxy S II LTE SC-03D smart phone for NTT DOCOMO subscribers in Japan. According to the companies, the EtherSmart LTE 1.0 allows for a 50% reduction in the antenna’s physical volume in the Galaxy S II LTE SC-03D for a thinner form factor without compromising performance. The EtherSmart LTE 1.0 uses active impedance matching techniques, which dynamically tune the antenna system, to maintain consistently high performance by minimizing body effects.
