Zultys Raises the Stakes as VoIP Goes Wireless
Zultys Technologies added another member to its family of award-winning VoIP products with the release of the WIP 2 wireless IP phone. The WIP 2 delivers the full functionality and ease of use of a desktop IP phone in a handy mobile format, providing seamless connectivity as users roam throughout an enterprise.
The WIP 2 wireless IP phone contains all of the features and functionality found in the ZIP 2x2 desktop IP phone, announced in March of this year. The WIP 2 is built entirely on open standards and runs on a highly stable real time Linux operating system. The phone is compatible with any IP telephony system using SIP (Session Initiation Protocol), providing customers with greater flexibility in their telephony system choices. The WIP 2 provides two call appearances and supports voice encryption, paging, 3-way conferencing, presence, instant messaging and all standard telephony functions.
The WIP 2 presents a new challenge to traditional telephone systems, as it liberates IP telephony from the office desk. Employees can go about their business while retaining full control of their availability and communications. The phone's presence feature will indicate whether the user is available, in a meeting, on the phone or on the move. The WIP 2 can equally be used as an extension to an existing office system or as a cost-effective way to provide phone service prior to cabling a site.
The WIP 2 is in trials now with volume shipments through distributors commencing in November. Prices for the WIP 2 will be announced in September.
