Carrier Application Handles IM, Social Networks
EQO has released EQO CE (Carrier Edition), a customizable
version of the EQO application that enables mobile operators to capitalize on
the demand for mobile messaging and social networking. EQO CE incorporates the
most popular instant messaging and social networks, allowing users to stay
connected to friends and family using their operators’ voice and data services.
EQO aggregates IM buddies, social network friends, and phone contacts into a universal social phonebook. The application is designed for a wide range of mobile handsets and leverages the momentum of established social networks, IM services, and content publishers to enrich the way users keep in touch while on the go.
“Consumers want more from their mobile phones. They expect their devices to offer continuous interaction with their ecosystem of contacts, networks, and personalized content,” said EQO CEO Bill Tam. “We designed EQO to satisfy this demand, and the mobile operators are taking notice. Our initial operator partners are excited to offer their customers an application that mobilizes feeds from today’s most popular social networks like Facebook and Twitter, but is flexible enough to incorporate emerging networks in the future.”
