Contest Entices App Developers With $10 Million In Prizes
Like the carrot in front of the horse’s nose, cell-phone giants Nokia and AT&T give developers big incentives to create apps in the form of $10 million in cash and prizes. Initially, the companies will select entry apps they deem worthy and then allow consumers to flex their downloading muscle to choose the winners. The 2010 Calling All Innovators, North America contest is open to worldwide developers.
All submissions will be available for download via the Ovi Store by Nokia. Also, Nokia and AT&T invite developers to a free session at CTIA Enterprise and Applications in San Francisco that includes a tour of Qt and Nokia Web Runtime/Java tools. For the contest, developers have until January 28, 2011 to submit apps. To register for the free developers’ session, visit www.ctiaenterpriseandapps.com/events/eventdetails.cfm/1154.
