Mobile TV Service Scheduled For Expansion

MediaFLO USA plans to broaden its FLO TV footprint, making the service available to more than 200 million consumers in more than 100 markets in 2009. The scheduled transition to DTV will free spectrum across the U.S. for the delivery of advanced wireless services, creating new opportunities for mobile subscribers to experience FLO TV.

The company said the expansion of service will begin within weeks of the DTV transition on Feb. 17 and continue throughout the year. Working with its wireless operator partners, Media FLO will add service in major markets, including Boston, Cleveland, Houston, Miami, and San Francisco.

MediaFLO USA’s extensive market research and viewer usage data confirm that consumers are progressively adopting mobile TV services and, once adopted, using their services with increasing regularity. All programs featured on the FLO TV service are available to consumers through leading wireless operators in more than 65 major metropolitan areas nationwide, including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, and Washington, D.C.
