Platform Develops Apps For Multiple Environments
The FeedHenry Hosted Development Environment lets users build and run the same application across iPhone, Android, Symbian, and BlackBerry smart phones as well as across Web and social media sites such as Facebook and MySpace. According to FeedHenry, it solves the problem that enterprise content providers and developers have in building different versions of complex apps for multiple environments.
FeedHenry provides a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) one-stop shop to build, deploy, and operate applications that look and perform consistently across different devices. The platform significantly reduces the cost and complexity of developing multiple versions of an application, the company says, providing an efficient way to extend apps across mobile, Web, and desktop environments.
For example, developers of iPhone and iPad apps now have a technology baked into their apps that will enable them to react quickly to changing market demands and reuse apps for multiple devices. Already, FeedHenry has teamed up with AskMoby to launch a complex interactive weather app that provides custom weather reports. It’s available as a mobile app for the iPhone, iPad, and Vodafone 360 as well as a social Web application.
The solution is built on a cloud-based application-hosting environment. It provides productivity benefits because developers don’t have to reconfigure databases and servers, FeedHenry says. Development can be performed online with no setup or installation, which reduces operational procedures. Unlike other software development environments, the company says, application analytics are directly integrated into the online interface.
