Verizon Adds 5 Million MP3s To Its Online Store
Verizon Wireless now offers more than 5 million MP3s as part of its online media store, adding to the ringtones and ringback tones already available at http://mediastore.verizonwireless.com and http://vzw.com/mp3. According to Verizon, it is the first telecommunications company in the United States to offer MP3s through its online media store, making it simple to purchase and download music and then listen to that music through any MP3-capable device.
Customers can choose titles from multiple genres on the site, preview the music, log in to purchase, download the music, and then play it on their computers or any MP3-capable devices, including sideloading to Verizon Wireless music-capable handsets. Beginning on Tuesday, the company will offer tiered pricing for MP3s purchased online: $1.29 for new releases and bestsellers, $0.99 for most major contemporary releases, and $0.69 for most classic catalog releases. Prices for ringtones and ringbacks remain the same.
