Home security system uses M2M technology
Home security and automation provider uControl is using machine-to-machine (M2M) technology from Jasper Wireless to wirelessly connect and manage uControl’s in-home security alarms. The primary advantages of the wireless service are scalability, high performance, simplified operations, and global footprint.
“uControl prides itself on being the connected platform for home security, giving its customers the power to control and monitor the security of their homes from anywhere, at any time,” said Scott Barkley, vice president, products at Jasper Wireless. “Behind the scenes, we’re bringing several unique features to bear, including instant and automated provisioning and integration of our Jasper Wireless M2M control center into their back-end systems. In turn, uControl is rising above its competitors with features and functions unique to the security industry.”
Jim Kitchen, director of product management at uControl said, “It’s critical for our customers to know they’ll be connected to our monitoring service at all times. That’s our big differentiator. And that’s why we provide three redundant connections to our alarm systems, with wireless being the most important channel. Of all the different vendors we looked at, Jasper Wireless was the only company that could meet all of our business needs — from process, technical, and economic perspectives.”
