Cell-Phone SDK Enables Hands-Free Control
Chiseled specifically for Android and iPhone handsets, Sensory’s software-development kits (SDKs) help OEMs create smart phones, pads, and other mobile devices that operate completely hands free, without the user ever having to touch the device. The kits exploit the company’s Truly Handsfree Trigger, a voice technology that activates devices and applications via a specific (secret) word spoken by the user.
This feature is desirable for in-car scenarios, i.e., voice-controlled navigation and search, where it is crucial to keep one’s hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. Also, device manufacturers can use the magic word wakeup feature for branding their specific company and/or product name. Upon wakeup, the device operates purely via voice control including all search functions.
The Truly Handsfree Trigger SDK costs $2500 and includes five hours of development support.
