Development Kit Advances XLP-Based Designs
The XLPTM Multi-Core Processor Development Kit from NetLogic Microsystems promises to accelerate time-to-market and reduce development angst for those developing systems based on XLP multicore, multi-threaded processors. The XLP family claims title as the first embedded communications processors to feature quad-issue, quad-threaded, and superscalar out-of-order capabilities.
The kit includes a development board, reference schematics, models, guidelines, Allegro layout files, a programmer reference manual and datasheets, a board support package including a Linux 2.6 64-bit operating system and NetOSTM data plane environment, a tool chain and debug environment, a bootloader/BSP and diagnostics, a software set for demonstrating and evaluation, sample code for process application development, and options for high-speed connectivity including Interlaken, XAUI, and SGMII.
