The latest version of IAR Systems’ IAR Embedded Workbench extends support to 16-bit MSP430 microcontrollers from Texas Instruments. IAR Embedded Workbench for MSP430, version 5.50, includes a new text editor and source browser. The editor adds auto-completion, code folding, block selection, block indentation, bracket matching, and zooming features. Word and paragraph navigation also sport enhancements and parameter hints show function arguments. Another addition is an integration of the latest ULP Advisor code-analysis tool from Texas Instruments, a power-optimization teaching tool providing a static code analyzer that flags software code and offers tips and tricks.
