Triple video amplifier supports high definition video format
Linear Technology Corp. has released a single-supply triple amplifier for applications such as 1080p high-definition video. Available in a tiny 3 mm x 3 mm QFN package, the LT6559 offers excellent AC performance with 150 MHz 0.1dB flatness bandwidth, 800 V/µs slew rate and a wide output swing of 1.15 V to 3.85 V on a single 5 V supply. To provide flexibility in forming various multiplexer, cable-driver and ADC driver functions at low cost, each amplifier comes with its own enable pin, facilitating individual channel control. When enabled, each amplifier draws only 3.9 mA and when disabled, current consumption drops to only 0.1 µA per amplifier. Other features include low noise (4.5 nV/√Hz), wide supply range (4 V to 12 V or ±2V to ±6V), fast turn-on time (30 ns) and fast turn-off time (40 ns).
Applications include consumer video-playback equipment, KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) switches and LCD projectors and displays. Specified to operate on either single 5 V or ±5 V supplies, the LT6559 is available now starting at just $0.95 each in quantities of 1000.
