Low-Noise VCO Tunes 750 To 1040 MHz

For applications at UHF, Z-Communications has developed the low-noise model CLV0895A-LF voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO). The RoHS-compliant source tunes from 750 to 1040 MHz with tuning voltages of 0.5 to 11.5 V and typical tuning sensitivity of 30 MHz/V. The VCO features single-sideband (SSB) phase noise of -107 dBc/Hz offset 10 kHz from the carrier. Well suited for fixed-wireless and digital-radio applications, the CLV0895A-LF delivers 0 dBm output power from a +3.3-VDC supply while drawing only 15 mA current. It features second-harmonic performance of -13 dBc. The VCO is specified for operating temperatures from 40 to +85ºC and is supplied in a compact housing measuring just 0.50 x 0.50 x 0.22 in. It is ideal for use with automated assembly equipment and reflow solder techniques.
