Components supplier achieves AS9100 certification
Gowanda Electronics, a manufacturer of high-performance electronic inductor components for RF and power applications, is registered as conforming to AS9100 quality management standard. Certification was granted by NSF International Strategic Registrations (NSF-ISR) after completion of an audit earlier this year. The AS9100 standard goes above and beyond traditional ISO 9001 requirements and specifies nearly 100 additional requirements relating to quality, safety and reliability, in order to provide a quality management system that addresses the specific needs of the aerospace industry. The AS9100 offers a common standard for the global marketplace and is expected to become a necessity for doing business within the aerospace and aviation markets.
“By achieving AS9100 certification, we have taken the steps necessary to assure we not only meet aerospace customer expectations, but hopefully exceed them,” said Ken Hicks, director of quality at Gowanda Electronics. “That said, this certification will help Gowanda to expand its participation in the aerospace and aviation markets,” added Hicks.
