FreeWave named one of Colorado's fastest-growing tech companies

FreeWave Technologies, a designer and manufacturer of spread-spectrum radios, has been named to Deloitte's prestigious Colorado Technology Fast 50 Program. The Fast 50 is a ranking of the 50 fastest-growing technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies in Colorado by Deloitte & Touche USA LLP, a professional services organization. Rankings are based on the percentage revenue growth over five years from 2001-2005.

FreeWave Technologies' vice president of sales and marketing Colin Lippincott credits FreeWave's customer-driven technology offerings and high-quality service with the company's 91% revenue growth from 2001-2005. “This is the eighth consecutive year that FreeWave has been selected as one of Colorado's Fast 50 companies. We are flattered to have been honored with this every year that we have been eligible,” Lippincott explained. “Our continued success is a direct correlation of listening to our customers and delivering products that truly meet their needs better than anyone else in our industry. Our entire staff is committed to this mission. That has helped us continue to be one of the fastest-growing companies in Colorado and in our market.”

FreeWave's increase in revenues of 91% from 2001 to 2005 resulted in a 26 ranking in the Colorado Technology Fast 50. The average increase in revenues among companies who made the Technology Fast 50 for this region was 615%.

“Deloitte's Colorado Technology Fast 50 companies have shown the strength, vision and tenacity to succeed in today's competitive technology environment,” said Kurt J. Randall, Colorado Technology, Media and Telecommunications Leader, Deloitte Tax LLP. “We applaud the successes of FreeWave Technologies and acknowledge it as one of the few to accomplish such a fast growth rate over the past five years.”

To qualify for the Colorado Technology Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 2001 and $5,000,000 in 2005, be headquartered in Colorado, and be a company that owns proprietary technology or proprietary intellectual property that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues; or devotes a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology. Using other companies' technology or intellectual property in a unique way does not qualify.

Winners of the 16 regional Technology Fast 50 programs in the United States and Canada are automatically entered in Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 program, which ranks North America's top 500 fastest-growing technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies.
