SDK Supports Mobile Video Conferencing
With the VidyoTechnology software development kit (SDK) from Vidyo Inc., developers can build multipoint video conferencing applications into Android and Moblin smart phones and tablets running Intel Atom Z6xx series platforms (formerly Moorestown) and ARM platforms. The SDK also will support the MeeGo platform when it becomes available.
VidyoTechnology leverages the patented VidyoRouter architecture for error resiliency and to eliminate the latency in existing MCU-based implementations for natural, high-quality video over the Internet, Long-Term Evolution (LTE), and 3G and 4G networks for a fraction of the cost, according to the company. It also delivers video quality found only on high QoS (quality of service) and dedicated video networks, Vidyo says.
The patented VidyoRouter software architecture uses off-the-shelf Intel processing platforms across room systems, PC and Mac desktops and laptops, netbooks, and soon smart phones and tablets to take advantage of faster, intelligent multi-core technology and advance the price-to-performance profile of its video conferencing solutions at the same pace as the PC world.
