SoC Set To Spread Android Further

With the goal of boosting regional-market adoption of low-cost Android smart phones, Wind River and Leadcore Technology are jointly developing a unique Android system-on-a-chip (SoC) smart-phone platform. Addressing the challenges of Android deployment on an SoC, Leadcore is employing the hardware abstraction layer test suite within Wind River Framework for Automated Software Testing (FAST). As a result, the company was able to focus on low-level software development and board-support-package hardening. Using FAST, Leadcore streamlined the software testing process using a layered approach, in which the application validates software quality on other layers and executes automated application-driven stress and performance tests.
