SPST MMIC switch handles high power
For designers of multi-band antennas, NEC has released a new high power single pole single throw (SPST) GaAs MMIC switch. The UPG2189TB is capable of handling high GSM input power levels with low harmonic distortion, making it suitable for switching the tuning and matching elements in multi-band antennas. Besides its high power handling capability, the UPG2189TB features high isolation, low insertion loss, and broadband operation to 2.5 GHz. It also features low control voltage capability down to 1.26 V. Typically, at 2.6 volt VDD and 1.8 volt VCONT, insertion loss is rated at 0.30dB @ 1 GHz, P0.1dB is +37 dBm and second and third harmonics are –68 dB and -75 dB @ PIN = +33 dBm, 1GHz.
Available now from California Eastern Laboratories, the UPG2189TB is housed in NEC’s industry standard SOT-363 / SC-70 ROHS-compliant TB package. To help speed circuit design, CEL also offers evaluation boards.
