Switch matrix simplifies complex microwave testing
In-Phase Technologies has readied a 2 x 36 switch matrix for use in multi-port component automated measurement systems. The switch was designed in conjunction with the development of an ATE system to test a complex 70 port microwave antenna. It provides connections from installed test instrumentation to the device under test. Two switch matrices and an In-Phase designed test fixture removes 70 blind connectors in a zipper like motion to enable the system to make required S21, S11, S22 and isolation measurements in approximately 5 minutes, said the maker. In addition, the system software facilitates gathering of test data that can be used to investigate trends in manufacturing, according to In-Phase Technologies.
The frequency range for the unit is DC to 18 GHz with a return loss of 20 dB at the center of the band. And the isolation between ports is >110dB. The all path cabling is phase matched, stated In-Phase Technologies. The low quantity pricing of the switch matrix is in the order of $60,000, according to the manufacturer. Delivery is 12 weeks ARO.
