High power SM terminators, attenuators feature low VSWRs at high frequencies

To Provide design engineers with high power devices suitable for RF and microwave applications, TT electronics IRC Advanced Film Division has developed a high power attenuator and surface mount transmission line terminator. Designated PAT3060P series attenuator and RFTF series terminator, both devices feature low VSWRs at high frequencies. Thus, providing an excellent combination of power dissipation and performance in the RF and microwave bands, said the manufacturer.

The PAT3060P series attenuator and RFTF Series terminator are designed for high frequency and high power applications including RF power meters, RF/microwave power amplifiers, radar, satellites, avionics, wireless communications, RF power sources and RF/microwave test instruments.

The new high power attenuator features a frequency range from DC to 10 GHz with a VSWR of less than 1.3 at 10 GHz. Attenuation values include0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 16 and 20 dB. The attenuator is rated to 10 W when heatsinked (1.5W without a heatsink). Impedance is 50 Ohms, with an operating temperature of –55 °C to +125 °C.

The RFTF Series high frequency terminator is available with power ratings to 250 W. Stray capacitance is <1.0 pF at 250 W and operating frequency ranges from DC to 3 GHz, with a VSWR of less than 1.1 at 3 GHz. DC Resistance is 50 Ohms with tolerances to ±1%, ±2% and ±5%. The operating temperature range is –55 °C to +125 °C.

Pricing for the PAT3060P attenuator starts at $10.50 each in quantities of 50 pieces. Likewise, pricing for the RFTF series terminator starts at $8.75 in quantities of 100 pieces. Lead time is 6 weeks for the PAT3060P and 8 weeks for the RFTF.
